Notes/Warnings: I realise that Underworld is, well, Underworld, but I am fascinated still by the idea of the crew travelling for a hundred thousand years till they're basically dead inside. So I wrote this. (Also written for dw_allsorts prompt “these ancient minutes”.)

Bravo! I remember feeling such dread for them when I watched this episode, to just go on and on like that. I love that you didn't just gave them a hope of an ending, but also a last worthwhile life. :)

Aw, thank you! And, yes, there is quite a nice scene where Tala regenerates and Jackson talks about how deadening it's been, travelling on and regenerating over and over, and that's pretty much where this came from.

They still have probably about 3 regenerations each left, though, and a whole lot of extra people to cope with. But an end date and some proper hope should help! Also having left the Land of the Dire CSO behind, too, I should think. :-)

I think they will enjoy their last lives more just because things are finally new. The Time Lord's, apart from restricting the number of re-renerations, doesn't do it to live the same lives over and over as the poor crew have had to do.

Yes, it's that thing about other people using Time Lord technology and it not going well & immortality never being a good idea generally that's interesting.

And, yes, I think the last bit of the quest is going to be better!
