Title: For Now Left and Forlorn
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 1459
Prompt/Chosen character: Chin Lee’s reaction to Harold Saxon.
Notes/Warnings: Warning for character death. It's not a happy story, I'm afraid. I re-watched The Mind of Evil recently and Chin Lee caught my imagination. She is rather unique among the Master’s minions, more like a companion than any other, at least until Lucy Saxon. It is clear that being a companion to the Doctor changes the companion’s lives, usually for the better. It seemed to me that those who survive serving the Master must be affected by their experience as well, though not in a positive way. Chin Lees disappears halfway through The Mind of Evil after she has been found out and I doubt that the Master ever thought about her again. But I doubt she got away unscathed. The title and the quote at the end is from the anonymous lyrics to John Downland’s song Come Again.
Summary Forty years are not enough time to get away from the Master’s influence.

Title: 'Sweet Dreams and Flying Machines in Pieces on the Ground'
Rating: G
Word Count: 1,388
Prompt/Chosen character: Wilf gets a trip on the TARDIS. (from [livejournal.com profile] kerravonsen)
Notes/Warnings: Dedicated with love to Grandpa on what would have been his ninety-fourth birthday. Grandpa and I were every bit as close as Wilf and Donna, so their dynamic is always bittersweet to me. Hence this particular prompt, on this particular day.

Summary: He clicked his fingers, the TARDIS doors springing open in response. "Come along, Mott..."

Title: Ship of Ghosts
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1315
Chosen character: Jackson (& Herrick, Orfe, Tala, from Underworld)
Notes/Warnings: I realise that Underworld is, well, Underworld, but I am fascinated still by the idea of the crew travelling for a hundred thousand years till they're basically dead inside. So I wrote this. (Also written for [livejournal.com profile] dw_allsorts prompt “these ancient minutes”.)
Summary The quest is the quest. It’s all that’s left.

Title: And at the End, a Garden
Rating: G
Word Count: ~1,800 words
Prompt/Chosen character: Cameca/Ten, as he revisits old flames during his goodbye tour.
Notes/Warnings: Spoilery for "The End of Time," and also a little, in indirect ways, for things up to, oh, "The Name of the Doctor," at least. Also "The Aztecs," but not really that much.
Summary: A regenerating Ten makes a stop in an Aztec garden.
Author's Note: I fear that, for a fest dedicated to celebrating minor characters, this one probably focuses entirely too much on the Doctor, although that wasn't my intention when I started writing. I kind of want to blame Ten: he has a remarkable talent for making things all about his angst, and once I gave him the POV, I had a surprising amount of difficulty wrestling it back from him again. Ah, well. Hopefully you will forgive me, dear readers, and enjoy it anyway.

Title: Salt of the Earth
Rating: PG
Word Count: 4149
Chosen character: Mrs Tyler (Image of the Fendahl)
Notes/Warnings: Apologies for inevitably dodgy folklore and witchcraft, as per canon, plus some early 20th C attitudes expressed by various characters. Few real spoilers for the serial however. Also written for [livejournal.com profile] dw_allsorts prompt "far off things".
Summary Martha Tyler lives on a time rift, sees things no one else does, and fights evil with rock salt. It’s been that way all her life.

Title: The Unlikely (But True) Tale of Troilus & Cressida
Rating: all ages
Word Count: 1249
Chosen Character: Troilus (The Myth Makers)
Notes/Warnings: also filling the prompt 'writing by candlelight' from 15 prompt table at [livejournal.com profile] dw_allsorts
Summary: Vicki had heard the stories told about Troilus & Cressida, of course, but the reality is much stranger - and better- than fiction. (A look at Troilus & Vicki's life together, told in a series of vignettes.)

Title: Unknown Unknown
Rating: All ages
Word Count: 1005
Prompt/Chosen character: Max Capricorn
Notes/Warnings: Takes place in the 'Turn Left' timeline. Canonical character death.
Summary: Five seconds after 'Titanic' hit London, something went wrong with Max Capricorn's plan. Maybe Earth wasn't the best choice of planet to hit, after all.
