How to sign up

If you would like to write from a prompt, choose one from the Prompt Post. (Only one claim per prompt if possible, please). You do not have to claim a prompt to play.
Comment to this post with your date, username (for wherever you're planning to post the fic), the prompt you've chosen and/or the minor character(s) you're going to be focusing on.

You can sign up for up to two fics initially - simply choose a second date/prompt etc., and repeat the process. (If you would like to write even more, you can claim a third once you have posted your first fic & so on.)

You must either post the fic (under a cut) to the comm, or link back to it from wherever you choose to post it. (There is a collection on AO3.)
Min. word count 500 words. (No maximum). It's a low pressure fest, but please do ensure your fics are correctly formatted and spell-checked, and beta-ed if needed.
You are welcome to use your fic to double up for another challenge (e.g. bingos, prompt tables etc.), but do check that's okay with the other challenge's rules.
You MUST use a heading with rating, word count, any relevant warnings and all fics must be under a cut if posted directly to the comm.
You will need to join the comm to post. (If you're not on DW, please contact the mod to arrange to make the link post to the comm for you.)
Please post on the date claimed or let the mod know if you won't be able to manage it. (Don't worry - rearranging a date shouldn't be a problem and there's no penalty for having to drop out. Real life eats us all at times.)

I will post a masterlist once the fest is over.

As this year's round wound up with an awful lot of us (your mod included) being hit by Darth Real Life, I did promise that I would try and think about some sort of bonus round later in the year, so here it is!

The Doctor Who Minor Characters Fest - Mini Round #1- Sat 23rd July - Sat 13th August

For this mini-fest, all fanworks will be included, not just fics and the only minimum requirements will be that it a) contains a Whoniverse Minor Character (see the Guidelines) and b) is above 50 words if fic/meta/recs/podfics etc., 3+ icons for a set, 2+ gifs for a set, 3+ songs for a fanmix. No upper limits. (If you are combining with some other challenge/fest/comm, don't forget you'll still need to meet their requirements!) Finishing WIPs for the fest is fine, reposting already completed and posted fanworks is not. (New podfic of existing fic is of course absolutely okay.) Please do still post your fanworks to the AO3 Collection.

So, at the end of this month we will celebrate the lesser known corners of the Whoniverse with fic, meta, rec sets, podfic, gif sets, icons, fanart, fan crafts, vids or vidlets, fanmixes, manifestos/love posts, podcasts, picspams, or pretty much anything else you can come up with. All unclaimed prompts from previous rounds will be up for grabs if you want to use them. (See here and here.)

You don't need to claim a prompt or state a character this once (although DO ask if you have any doubts about a character's eligibility, and you are more than welcome to fill unclaimed prompts), just sign-up for one of the below dates and post something shiny on it:

I will put up a new prompt post presently, which will remain open (as will sign-ups) until the fest closes on 13th August. (So if you want to leave any particular multi-media suggestions/prompts/requests, you will be able to!)
