Have a favourite guest character you'd like to see fic about? Have a specific idea for a story involving any minor/guest character(s)? This is the place to leave it! Anyone is welcome to leave prompts - you don't need to be taking part. You may leave as many prompts as you wish. Anon commenting is on, and prompting will remain open until posting begins.
Please note: no one is obliged to claim a prompt to take part, nor is this an exchange - be aware that if you leave a prompt, authors are free to interpret it in any way they choose.
Prompts
Prompts will be struck out as claimed. You may claim up to two prompts initially. (If you would like to claim another, you may do so once you have posted at least one of your other stories.) Only one claim per prompt, and you may claim your own prompt. See the Info Post for guidelines on eligible characters (but feel free to ask here or there if you have questions.)
If you would like to reuse or claim a prompt from last year's list of prompts, feel free to do so.
Once you've chosen your prompt(s), head over to the Sign-Up Post to claim it!
Prompts!
1. D84 and Poul, solving a mystery together before Robots of Death.
2. The long and happy hippy adventuring marriage of Professor Cliff Jones (and Jo Grant).
3. Just what sort of relationship do the Count and Countess Scarlioni have? Enquiring minds want to know.
4. Lady Jennifer and Lt Carstairs, post-The War Games.
5. Lorna Bucket's first meeting with Eleven.
6. Alec/Emma and more supernatural stake-outs (from Hide).
7. Grant (from The Return of Doctor Mysterio), anything about managing his superpowers when he was a child (with or without Twelve).
8. Verity Newman (Joan Redfern's great-granddaughter): researching her great-grandmother's life
9. The Meddling Monk: fun with time and space
10. Cameca: One/Cameca, of any kind
11. Jenny (the Doctor's daughter): following in her father's footsteps and leaving some of her own
12. Rassilon: going too far
13. Wilf: stargazing
14. Vastra: her first meeting with the Doctor
15. Brian Williams: across the decades
16. The Rani: what she did in the Time War
17. Lucy Saxon and Tish Jones during the Year That Never Was: any sort of interaction, whether positive or negative, slashy or not.
18. Madame Vastra and Jenny: their beginnings as a couple.
19. In the Warriors' Gate commentary, the commenters are regretful that more isn't made of the human slave whom the Tharils mistreat (and the Doctor helps to her feet) in episode 3. So who was she, how did she come to be there, what did she make of the Doctor, and what happened to her seconds later when the Tharil empire fell?
20. Shreela from Survival, investigating the weirdnesses of present-day Who and/or Enemy of the World. (According to the New Adventures, she became an award-winning science journalist (According to the New Adventures, she became an award-winning science journalist and died young. But since the new series plainly isn't following the same timeline as the NAs, we can ignore the dying part).
21. Lynda from Parting of the Ways: AU where she survives and has to cope with Nine's regeneration, Rose, Jackie and the London of what, to her, is the distant past.
22. So, what was the Psychic Circus like, back in the days when it was good?
23. Ancelyn & Bambera and a UNIT quest.
24. Counter Measures dealing with another Doctor Who alien.
25. Nyssa's children hearing her stories of her travels with the Doctor.
26. A UNIT soldier learning what UNIT is really all about for the first time.
27. Miranda Cleaves (The Rebel Flesh, The Almost People), I'm tempted to demand an Aliens-esque sequel where the Company Doesn't Listen and tries to have her killed for ruining their profits. But something about the clean-up or future of where she found herself after the destruction of the Flesh as something non-human or malleable might be interesting.
28. Petra Williams (Inferno), picking up the pieces of a destroyed and shut-down project. Or something silly and fun.
29. Gia Kelly (Seeds of Death), Saving the world isn't just punching aliens, radio-ing for help or shoving gold into Cyber chest plates. Or conversely, Gia and Zoe have a technology-off.
30. Kathy Nightingale (Blink), trapped in the past with no way home, how does one manage to survive?
31. Charlotte Singh (Big Finish, Live 34). What's a news-woman to do once she's toppled a tyrannical, megalomaniacal and psychotic leader?
32. Bev Tarrant (Big Finish, The Genocide Machine, Dust Breeding), an archeological dig (heist) that actually goes well for her. Possibly with Ace as a tagalong.
33. Jyoti Cutler (Big Finish, Scavenger), life in the space lanes, post-almost-apocalypse.
34. Lady Peinforte - her first meeting with the Doctor, or just adventures with Richard and poisoning her enemies, whatever.
35. Doctor O'Neill (Big Finish, Night Thoughts). Why did it take him so long to go searching for the truth?
36. Edie (Big Finish, Night Thoughts). Oranges and lemons, say the bells of St. Clements.
37. Sue and her father (Big Finish, Night Thoughts). Rebuilding a family is never easy, but tragedy and horror will always make it worse.
38. The Deacon, The Bursar, Colonel Dickens, Joel Hartley (Big Finish, Night Thoughts). What led them to the madness and obsession? Or what could they have been had someone interfered prior to the original event?
39. Queenie Glasscock (Big Finish, The Magic Mousetrap). Yes, they're all such terribly good soldiers, aren't they? Tea-time with Mrs. Glasscock is never the same after Switzerland. (adding any of the other sanatorium members is perfectly acceptable)
40. Hurmzid (Big Finish, Gods and Monsters). Princes of Persia are rarely without a plan.
(This post will close for prompts once posting begins on 11th March 2017.)
